    Holiday Accident Statistics Released by Pennsylvania State Police ...

    HARRISBURG – During the three-day Christmas holiday driving period, there were 900 accidents investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police.  Those accidents resulted in 255 injuries and eight deaths.

    From Dec. 24 through Dec. 26, state police investigated a total of 900 accidents.  Of those accidents, 41 were alcohol-related and involved two fatalities. Also, seven of the eight people who died in accidents were not wearing seatbelts.

According to Bloomberg BNA’s analysis of private sector figures released by the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, in the second quarter of 2013, average salaries and wages of private-sector union workers rose 3.6 percent (to $24.18/hour from $23.25), while average salaries and wages of private-sector non-union workers only rose 0.8 percent (from $19.95 to $20.10).
